Intermediate Foundation RAD Syllabus/Exam Preparation (Level 3) with lessons on:
The first level of the RAD's Vocational Graded Syllabi, this class is suitable for students already attending two Children's Graded classes per week, and with approval from the Principal, for whom this is an important hobby or as part of training for a future career in dance or dance teaching. The classes cover the relevent techniques for this level, using unset and syllabus exercises to build technique and artistry. Adult learners are welcome, as long as they are supporting their attendance in this class with at least one other ballet class per week.
It is expected that ballet students attend this class supported by two graded classes (ie G5/6) per week, and in general it will take a minimum of 5 terms to reach readiness to prepare for the exam. It is recommended that students take two Intermediate Foundation classes/week and consider attending the Pointework class on Saturdays in addition.
Students will need a theraband and a notebook & pen/pencil in every lesson (in addition to the CoD Uniform). Students may wear non-uniform dance clothes on Saturdays, though hair must be secured away from the face and neck in a classical style.
(RAD examinations are regulated by Ofqual. Intermediate Foundation is at Level 2 on their regulatory Framework.)
